welcoming the cold

Though I've been cribbing at the brutal cold prevailing in Illinois and my land Urbana-Champaign, somewhere in my heart I am very happy as the cold has finally made its way since fall 06. As I had left for India on Christmas eve last year without a single drop of snow around, my mind was constantly going back to a piece of news shared by my friend, 'THE ARCTIC ICE WILL DISAPPEAR BY SUMMER 2060!!!' We all are aware of global warming, but you can't ignore it anymore. The disappearing winters, melting ice, increasing temperatures are becoming more and more evident.
I see the weather predictions for upcoming weeks and stare at the negative Fahrenheit temperature predictions. But naah, I've coffee and jackets to fight the winters. I am just glad that winters have survived another year and may God bless my future generations who aren't just born to see a planet drowning in water...
