The heat is high, both literally and emotionally. I had the luck to see all the French Open 07 matches this time at home. The semifinals were in no way boring and served some challenge for the top two seeds in Mens draw. Federer and Nadal are all set for another colossal clash in Roland Garros Finale this sunday. The competition has never been so fierce, so unpredictable and so on-the-top. I wouldn't bet on anyone really though I wish to confidently say that Federer will break the jinx this time. He is looking good but he was a bit shaky in the semifinal today against the russian. He'll probably need more than his current form to beat the clay king Rafa, who is continuosly playing well. Rafa has undoubtedly shown amazing consistency and nerves to hold on to his place. He has the attitude to not be dazzled by the no. 1 rank and perform his best. He has been stable and is the only challenge around for the Swiss.
I havent forgotten the last year's finale where Federer couldn't stretch his brilliance on the clay yet. But it has been a long year and lot of improvement has reflected in Federer. Whether he has what it takes to repeat Rod Laver's 1969 performance of sweeping all the grandslams consecutively, is yet to be seen. I am sure of one thing: if anyone deserves to achieve this honor, it can be no one else than this Swiss player. Its more than just love for a sport, its perfection personified and an attitude so humble that one can't just help being charmed at the Fed'ex' (express) phenomenon. He's almost there and I hope that this time IS his time.

lady! Fedex had a close escape from a crushing defeat at the hands of a rooky I guess:)
better pray for him if he has 2 come any closer to winning against the King of Clay Court... :)
Hey Manish,
firstly Nadal is no rooky :)
Secondly, u really cant favor anyone at the moment, its too unpredictable..so I m just wishing n hoping (coz its not impossible after the Hamburg win) that Fed shows his magic
fair enuf? :)
Also, Davydenko is no. 4 seeded! So an interesting semi-final was expected. Anyway, whoever wins, an exciting finals is all I care about :) Cheers!
:) I was basically refering to Davydenko as the rooky but guess i was mistaken...I learnt he is one of the best russian....
but anyways it's over now...Fed's dream was crushed by his nemesis....may he win at Wimbledon!
