'Best 3-D magic yet on screens' is what it is being called. I do not know about 3-D but I expected at least 70% of that magic to show on plain screens. Ok, if that is too ambitious, may be 50%? I thought going on 'bhedchaal' is something that Bollywood is best in but I was wrong, if a movie like 300 made a mark, it is only too predictable that visual splendors would be churned out in abundance. Remove Jolie's scenes and you will not find a single alteration in viewers' expressions.
Pardon me but those animations are so overly done that you are left feeling like watching a stupid video game on big screens. 300 was 'okay' and Beowulf is a sheer disgust. I dont see anything intelligent about the execution. Characters made from real people are then rendered digitally to look animated! - the result is what you call soul-less, dead, hideous and pale figures. If it wasn't for the interesting story of the original poem, I would have left after the excruciating first hour of the movie. Reading the poem or the story itself is a far better way of knowing 'Beowulf' than watching Robert Zemeckis' direction. Don't spoil your weekend.
