crush...literally

"for there is no pathos more bitter than that of parting from someone we have never met"

It is bound to sound very funny and esp when used by an author as humorously inclined as Sir PGW. But the text might just hide a very sensitive and cruel joke of destiny. For all those overtly youthful spirits who seem to be wearing their hearts on their sleeves, ready to fall at the sight of anyone genial enough to pass a smiling glance, it might be a statement of the inevitable destiny. How many times a youth falls in love to how many times the situation proceeds to anything more substantial may probably describe a number larger than infinity. A glance or a small encounter is all that many crushes end up with. Not that I am a very romantic person but I will not go into the more realistic question of how many of these would have even lasted if given a chance coz that would kill all the romance.

Kai baar wo nazar ya mulaqaat hi kaafi ho jaati hai zindagi bhar ke liye. Wo kya kehte hain...
unke khayal aaye to aate chale gaye, deewana zindagi ko banaate chale gaye
hosh-o-havas par mere bijli si gir gayi, veeran mera dila tha..basaate chale gaye

I've always thought that falling in love is a journey, not the first chance meeting ...

But that's just me.
