Zindagi kuch ajab guzarti hai. Kabhi tez, kabhi aahista, kabhi sukoon, kabhi ghazab guzarti hai.
Things can't be planned or foreseen in a manner. And the unforesee-ability of it all brings that essential element of surprise in life without which it would be nothing but futile. I kept thinking for years but when it had to happen, it did...how it had to happen, it did. I could have tried to shape the events a bit but in the end its all a matter of divine intervention (not using the divine here for The Almighty but something not in my hands). Nonetheless, I would not choose another course even if life rewinded it for me.
Peace becomes so elusive at times and its a tricky business because the more you seek it and the more you consciously try to attain zen, the farther it seems. Often when one lets things go, the tranquility settles in. In the end its a matter of finding the right balance between the detachment and involvement. As is a popular belief in Hinduism, one should lead her life like oil floats on surface of water; the essence being live in the world without losing your identity.
Past few days created enough ripples in the calm waters of my life and I did not get much time to do anything. I will try catching up with the French Open action in its final week. There are many poems left to be detailed. But one thing I would like to immediately put down in writing will be about the concert I attended y'nite. It featured Atif Aslam, Richa Sharma, Kailash Kher and Amanat Ali. I hadn't seen any of these perform live before and it was great fun. Except for Amanat Ali, who is just too young to perform on stage and had a hard time in getting his voice heard, rest of the singers had incredibly powerful voices and completely entertained the audience. Richa Sharma and Kailash Kher enthralled everyone with some beautiful sufi numbers. Lastly about Mr. Atif Aslam, he has one hell of a style and is million times more charismatic to listen to (oh yeah watch too) live than on cds. I dint expect that big of a following for him but the guy has an amazing stage presence. I would just end with this fantastic number of him-
Hum kis gali ja rahe hain, hum kis gali ja rahe hain
apna koi thikaana nahi...
armaanon ki anjuman me, besudh hai apni lagan me
apna koi fasaana nahi...
ek ajnabi sa chehra, rehta hai meri nazar me
ek dard aa ke thehra, din raat dard-e-jigar me
raat din ye kaisi talab si, ye aarzoo hai ajab si
lekin kisi ko bataana nahi...
